Studio Practice

Transparency can be defined as the quality of light passing through a surface, the ease of perception, and a state of openness to scrutiny. My work explores the concept of visibility- physical, emotional, and social- through material, process, and form. I incorporate transparent elements, such as tracing paper and glass, to evoke a sense of openness, while recycled materials reveal the artist’s touch and highlight the importance of the process. These components merge in a practice of intersectional surrealism, where surreal interpretations of the human body are shaped by layered identities and lived experiences.

Vulnerability is central to this exploration. Intuitive gestures and intentional material combinations guide each piece. The result is a form of living documentation—work that unfolds through both conscious decision and subconscious expression.

Although physical figures are absent, their presence lingers. What remains are traces: the memory of touch, the space once occupied, and the residue of interaction. These works give materials a second life, existing simultaneously as memorials and sacred spaces.

Titles are derived from original poems created in conjunction with the artwork, establishing a layered dialogue between language and form.
